The project aimed to enhance the facilities for residing tenants and provide a new, efficient roadway through the estate. Designed in accordance with Australian standards, it transformed existing dirt tracks into sustainable and durable roadways, reflecting our commitment to quality and client satisfaction. This Work Included The Following: Demolition and excavation of the existing roadway to prepare for new infrastructure. Supply and installation of stormwater service infrastructure, including stormwater pipes and pits. Construction of concrete aprons along existing roadways and concrete laybacks. Construction of in-situ concrete pits and dish drains. Construction of new pavement and asphalt roadway. Excavation of swales along the roadway to improve drainage. Supply and installation of topsoil and turf in surrounding areas and swales along the upgraded roadway. Civilcraft navigated several key challenges and risks during this complex design and construct project. Careful planning and sequencing ensured smooth progress. By keeping the work footprint to a minimum, tenants were able to continue their operations without disruption. Client-specific considerations and concerns were thoroughly addressed throughout the design process.</p>

					<description><![CDATA[<p>Civilcraft was engaged by Qantas Airways Limited to deliver the staged upgrade of the DNATA carpark located at Kent Road, Mascot. The project aimed to rejuvenate the existing asphalt pavement, improve traffic flow and pedestrian safety, and enhance the overall functionality of the DNATA carpark servicing Qantas catering operations. The works were undertaken in six stages to ensure uninterrupted access and continuity of operations for Qantas and DNATA staff. Stages 1 and 2 formed the initial phase, focusing on the most critical and high-traffic sections of the facility. These stages involved resurfacing, repainting, and the installation of new safety features in accordance with Qantas property standards and airport operational requirements. Stages 3 to 6 was the construction of a new road as the previous access to the upper campus would no longer be accessible and a new entry via Kent Road was built as part of this upgrade. The project was successfully completed under Civilcraft’s Integrated Management System (IMS), achieving all safety, quality, and environmental objectives without any incidents. <li>Installation of new bollards, wheel stops, and speed humps for traffic safety.</li>
<li>Instalation of new boom and access control systems inclusive of CCTV Cameras.</li>
<li>Installation of streetscape furniture and custom built bus encolosed bus shelters.</li>
<li>Environmental controls, dust suppression, and disposal of milled material to licensed facilities.</li>
</ul>
<p>Despite the challenges of delivering works within an operational airport environment, Civilcraft successfully managed risks and constraints through careful staging, close coordination with Qantas, and strong adherence to WHS and quality protocols.</p>
<p>Civilcraft successfully navigated several key challenges and risks:</p>

<li>Managing night works to comply with lighting, noise, and access restrictions.</li>
<li>Maintaining continuous vehicle and pedestrian access for Qantas Buses on the main alignment and DNATA operations.</li>
<li>Coordinating with multiple stakeholders including Qantas Property, DNATA, and airport security.</li>
<li>Implementing strict WHS and fatigue management systems under the Qantas Site Management Plan.</li>
<li>Achieving zero lost-time incidents across all stages of delivery.</li>

Construction of new kerb &#38; gutter and vehicle crossing. Construction of new driveways and footpaths. Asphalt resurfacing of the kerb side lane &#38; reinstatement of linemarking. 					<description><![CDATA[<p>The purpose of this project was to remove asbestos trays, rocks and dumped construction wastes from beneath the Bradfield Tunnel. By removing this waste, it would allow for steel beams to be exposed that would provide a safe working area for future maintenance of the beams. As site access was restricted, Civilcraft developed a methodology to remove waste via a conveyor system. The conveyor would transport the material to a skip bin that would then be taken offsite. 										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The purpose of this project was to remove asbestos trays, rocks and dumped construction wastes from beneath the Bradfield Tunnel. By removing this waste, it would allow for steel beams to be exposed that would provide a safe working area for future maintenance of the beams.</p>
<p>As site access was restricted, Civilcraft developed a methodology to remove waste via a conveyor system. The conveyor would transport the material to a skip bin that would then be taken offsite.</p>

					<description><![CDATA[<p>The Brown Street Bridge was constructed in the 1970’s and as a result the handrail did not comply with the current Australian Standards for minimum heights on pedestrian paths on bridges. Routine painting maintenance could not be carried out due to the height restrictions and the traffic volumes of Parramatta Road below as well as the volume on Brown Street. As a result of these maintenance issues, corrosive damage developed on the bottom rail and anchorage points of the existing handrail. Civilcraft was contracted to install a new prefabricated handrail according to the current Australian Standards and to mitigate any future corrosion on the bottom rail and anchorage points. The total length of the handrail was approximately 40 metres. The works were staged in 13 phases and carried out at night due to public safety and road closure restrictions during daytime hours. The safety of pedestrians and vehicles was a priority during this project and therefore the Civilcraft team engaged in works during a low activity period. <li>Hydro demolition of existing concrete edge using high pressure water robotic unit to expose existing reinforcement.</li>
<li>Construction of new kerb which included shear studs, mesh reinforcement and HD bolts and a B80 32MPa 10mm aggregate low shrinkage concrete.</li>
<li>Installation of new handrail on kerb with grouting beneath base plates.</li>
<li>Dismantling of timber panels and temporary fence panels.</li>
</ul>
