This overloading resulted in settlement of the apron slabs. Port Authority of New South Wales engaged Civilcraft to undertake repairs to the wharf pavements so Glebe Island Berth 1 could once again, facilitate the berthing of vessels and unloading of dry bulk materials. Project Components: Site establishment including site facilities, temporary fencing, management plans, protection of existing services, installation of approved environmental pollution control measures and dilapidation reports. Delineate the site to isolate the agreed works area(s) from the terminal operations. Protection of existing pavement surrounding the works area and any services within and directly adjacent to the works area. Partial demolition of concrete crane rail beam using hydro-demolition to expose and retain reinforcing steel, treatment of steel and reconstruction to new design level. Partial demolition of heavy-duty concrete pavement and reconstruction by topping slabs cast on the existing slabs. Due to significant challenges in cruise capacity and the previous gangway system posing extreme operational and safety risks, the decision was made to significantly upgrade the gangways for the safe movement of passengers between the terminal and port vessels. Civilcraft was selected based on their value for money construction methodology which gave the client confidence we could maintain daily port operations and achieve the tight program set for the arrival of the new gangways. Summary of works: Demolition and removal of the existing seaward rail. Demolition and removal of various existing pavements for new landward beam. Excavation, protection and redirection of existing services. Staged construction of new seaward and landward concrete rail beams. Supply &#38; installation of the new rails and associated hardware, including earthing. Restoring the wharf surfaces on each side of each rail beam.</p>

In order to accommodate the RTGs, a reinforced concrete runway beam was necessary. Civilcraft was commissioned to construct an extension to the existing RTG Beam, which involved the construction of approximately 250 meters of new reinforced concrete runway beam. The primary goal was to ensure that RTG operations could continue uninterrupted and with improved performance. Additionally, the project included repairs to the asphalt in the immediate vicinity of the RTG Beam, ensuring a safer and more secure work environment. <li>Working in a live round-a-clock environment.</li>
<li>Works were postponed due to high winds. In order to achieve set target dates, additional resources were required.</li>
