Department of Defence – Taxiway Reconstruction
Civilcraft was awarded the slab replacements and stormwater pit rectification works at RAAF Base Amberley and RAAF Base Townsville. The program required complex staging and planning to adhere to the strict time frames and operational requirements of both live airfields.
Summary of works:
- Service identification and relocation.
- Detailed demolition and removal of concrete slabs on existing live taxiways and runways.
- Compaction and proof-rolling of subgrade.
- Construction of lean-mix subbase layer.
- Construction of new heavy-duty 4.8MPa flexural strength concrete.
