The GPT Group – Blacktown & Villawood Concrete Hardstand Remediation Works

Project Overview: This project involved the remediation of existing concrete hardstands and asphalt pavements across two industrial sites. Specific repairs addressed spalling and differential settlement of slabs that posed hazards for workers on foot and risk of damage to mobile plant and equipment.

• Full-depth pavement reconstruction.
• Milling and re asphalting of adjacent flexible pavements.

Key Challenges and Risks:

• Dealing with concrete hardstands and asphalt pavements across two industrial estates required extensive patch repairs and full-depth concrete pavement reconstruction.
• Out of hours works with sustained truck traffic adjacent to the worksite required a high level of safety measures to be implemented and coordination.
• Working in a complex site with food manufacturing and distribution required effective dust control measures.
• Completing the planning stage on a rolling basis to ensure timely delivery of the project.
• Maintaining strict quality control on a tight schedule to ensure the project met the client’s expectations.
